Showers and thunderstorms today will produce the threat of flash flooding and very poor visibility through this evening.  A return to a cool yet unsettled weather pattern can be expected by this weekend.

A cold front will slowly move through the region today with waves of showers and thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Flash flooding and visibility falling below a mile are the most significant threats.  Winds will veer from the south to the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to mid-80s for highs today with elevated humidity levels.

The cold front will stall off the coast tonight on through tomorrow with scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated showers.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid-50s to lower 50s for lows and upper 70s to mid-80s for highs.

A wave of low pressure will develop off the coast on Saturday with scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated to widely scattered showers throughout the day.  Winds will veer to the southeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid to upper 50s for lows and mid to upper 70s for highs.

High pressure to the north and low pressure off the coast will combine to produce a persistent easterly wind for Sunday on through Wednesday with scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated to widely scattered showers.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid to upper 50s for lows and lower to mid-60s for highs.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s for lows and upper 60s to mid-70s for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s for lows and upper 60s to mid-70s for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the lower to mid-50s for lows mid to upper 70s for highs.
