High pressure will bring more sunshine to the region today, but the low-pressure system festering in the Tennessee River Valley will bring heavy rainfall to the region by tomorrow evening.

High pressure over New England will build south today with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  An isolated shower remains a threat, especially along the southern New Jersey coast.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s along the coast and mid to upper 60s over the interior for highs.

An area of low pressure will approach the region tomorrow with increasing clouds and rain developing towards the afternoon.  Winds will be from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the upper 40s to mid-50s for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s for highs.

The area of low pressure will move through the region tomorrow night through Saturday afternoon with periods of rain, heavy at times.  Rainfall amounts of 0.50″ to 1.50″ can be expected with locally higher amounts possible.  Winds will back to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph with gusts over 20 mph at times.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s for lows and lower to mid-60s over the interior, mid-60s to lower 70s in the New York City metro, and lower to mid-70s in the Philadelphia metro for highs.

High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered cloud cover on Sunday and Memorial Day.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-60s for highs.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 60s for highs.

A series of weak cold fronts and troughs will produce scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated showers on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower to mid-50s for lows and mid to upper 60s on Long Island and lower to mid-70s elsewhere for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s for lows and upper 60s to lower 70s on Long Island and mid to upper 70s elsewhere for highs.
