Pleasant weather conditions return just in time for Mother’s Day!  Rain returns tomorrow, but a gradual warming trend will start to take shape next week.

High pressure will pass to the south of the region today with scattered cloud cover expected.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-50s to lower 60s for highs this afternoon.

An area of low pressure will pass through the region tomorrow with scattered to broken cloud cover and isolated to widely scattered showers.  Winds will veer from the south to the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid-40s to lower 50s along the coast for lows and upper 50s to lower 60s for highs.

High pressure will build into the region on Tuesday with clearing skies.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for highs.

High pressure will shift towards the Canadian Maritimes on Wednesday with scattered cloud cover expected.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for lows and mid-50s to lower 60s for highs.

A warm front will approach on Thursday with increasing clouds and isolated showers.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and upper 50s to mid-60s for highs.

A cold front will follow on Friday and stall over the region through Saturday with broken cloud cover and scattered showers.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the lower to mid-50s over the interior and upper 50s to mid-60s along the coast for lows and upper 60s to mid-70s over the interior, mid to upper 70s on Long Island, and upper 70s to mid-80s elsewhere for highs.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to mid-50s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 60s for highs.
