Onshore winds today will produce overcast skies and drizzle through this evening.  Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected by tomorrow evening.

High pressure will exit today with overcast skies, drizzle, and isolated showers, especially on the coast.  Winds will be from the east at 10 to 20 mph. Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-50s n Long Island and mid-50s to lower 60s elsewhere for highs.

A cold front will approach tomorrow with increasing showers through the afternoon.  Heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms are expected in the evening hours. The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours, occasional lightning, small hail, and wind gusts over 60 mph.  Flash flooding, wind damage, and power outages are a threat.  Winds will be from the southeast at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior, upper 40s to mid-50s in the New York City Metro, and mid to upper 50s in the Philadelphia Metro for lows and mid to upper 50s on Long Island and upper 50s to mid-60s elsewhere for highs.

As the low-pressure system departs on Friday, periods of showers can be expected throughout the day with scattered to broken cloud cover.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-50s for lows and lower to mid-60s over the interior and mid-60s to lower 70s for highs.

High pressure will be in control on Saturday and Sunday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the upper 40s to lower 50s for lows and mid to upper 60s for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid-40s for lows and mid to upper 60s on Long Island and upper 60s to mid-70s elsewhere for highs.

A series of cold fronts and troughs will pass through the region on Monday and Tuesday with scattered to broken clouds and isolated showers.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the lower to mid-50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-60s on Long Island and upper 60s to mid-70s elsewhere for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower to mid-40s for lows and lower to mid-50s over the interior, mid to upper 50s over the New York City Metro, and upper 50s to lower 60s in the Philadelphia Metro for highs.
