Tranquil conditions this morning will give way to rain and snow this evening as another storm moves through the region.  Chilly weather conditions return by Friday.

High pressure will pass over the region today with scattered clouds along with light and variable winds.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast.

An area of low pressure will approach this evening with rain developing along the coast and snow over the interior.  The snow in the higher elevations of the Poconos, Hudson Highlands, and northern Connecticut will support snow accumulations of a trace to 2″ and a trace of ice through 3 AM tomorrow morning before a change over to rain towards daybreak.  Winds will be from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows.

The low-pressure system and cold front will move through the region tomorrow with periods of rain throughout the region through the afternoon. Skies will clear in the evening.  Winds will veer from the southwest to northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-40s over the interior, mid-40s to lower 50s in the New York City metropolitan area, and mid-50s to lower 60s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

High pressure will build into the region on Friday with clearing skies and cold weather conditions.  Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph. Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-20s over the interior and upper 20s to lower 30s along the coast for lows and mid-20s to lower 30s over the interior and mid to upper 30s along the coast for highs.

High pressure will remain in control Saturday through Monday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower to mid-10s for lows and lower to mid-30s for highs.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid to upper 20s for lows and mid-40s to lower 50s for highs.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and lower to mid-50s for highs.

An area of low pressure on Tuesday will produce periods of showers, heavy at times.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-40s over the interior, upper 40s to mid-50s in the New York City metropolitan area, and upper 50s to lower 60s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area for highs.
