Tropical Storm Lisa is starting to become better organized with an area of convection developing around the low-level center of circulation. The convection is starting to feature upper-level divergence via cirrus clouds expanding outward and surface pressures steadily falling. Lisa is expected to continue to strengthen into a strong tropical storm.
In the next 48 hours, the atmospheric environment will be more favorable as a strong upper-level ridge builds to the north of the low-pressure system over Cuba and Jamacia. The strong upper-level ridge will force Tropical Storm Lisa through the southern Caribbean Sea which will feature water temperatures around 29°C. The combination of these features will support the continued intensification of Lisa into a strong tropical storm or category one hurricane. Lisa will make landfall on the coast of Belize by Wednesday evening.
